The goal of the Washington Elementary School library remodel was to create a literary “hub” that is inspiring, playful and student centered. A spacious feel was desired while improving space utilization and layout yet maintaining the entire collection. Demco played an integral role in taking this vision to reality. Our exclusive ColorScape® line of furnishings had the elements they needed to help them accomplish their goals for the library.

Lower shelving heights made access to books easier for students and improved the librarians’ sightlines. Connecting curved benches with shelving created a unique landscape in the library and resulted in defined nooks for reading, studying, teaching and collaborating. Allermuir Pebble stools offer library users a soft seat with casual flair while a coordinating ColorScape circulation desk and storage cabinets completed the remodel.
