The Library at Sioux Center Middle and High School was a dull, monotone time warp. The new learning center is a vibrant, 21st century space that allows students to read, study and collaborate. DEMCO Interiors helped the school realize its vision for a multi-functional space. Tables and a variety of seating options – all within the school’s budget – accommodate students’ different learning and working styles. School media specialist, Gretchen Bruhn, says more students use the space now than ever! You could even call it a popular hangout.
The library’s transformation into this 21st century learning environment required the removal of two walls which opened up the space and provided clean sight lines throughout the room. A new ceiling was installed with updated lighting as well as a separate area, adjacent to the library, created as a S.T.E.M. classroom. Demco provided furniture including a variety of soft seating and table options, wall-mounted glass markerboards, and Demco Steel Shelving with Demco’s TotaLibra end panels and canopy tops. The end result is a gorgeous new space for learning, offering students a brighter, more welcoming place to come study and hang out with friends.
